What are dental implants?Dental implants are small titanium screws that are surgically implanted directly into the jawbone at the site of a missing tooth. Over a period of time, this implant fuses with the jawbone in a process known as Osseo-integration, which creates a powerful, strong and durable tooth root alternative. A dental crown is then placed over the implant to expertly conceal the implant and improve esthetics.
Discover what we can do for you…We treat a wide variety of patients that are missing teeth, and recommend that missing teeth should be treated promptly and effectively. Dental implants do take a period of months, but the results are incredible, and well worth it! Patient 8 came to us with a missing tooth, and wanted a solution that felt and looked like a natural tooth. After a discussion with Patient 8, it was found that dental implants offered the best results and would supply Patient 8 with the best possible results. A dental implant was inserted into Patient 8’s jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. This allowed the bone to be stimulated by the substitute tooth root, and prevent any bone loss from occurring. The next step after healing was to place the porcelain crown to complete the smile. In order to do this we had to prepare one of Patient 8’s other teeth for a crown, in order to provide Patient 8 with the perfect, symmetrical smile they wanted. Crowns were then placed on the teeth sitting either side of the front teeth, to create a harmonious, strong and functional set of teeth.
Restoring your smile goes further than creating balance…The benefits of dental implants are much more than just restoring your smile to full esthetics. Opting for dental implants, if a suitable candidate, can:
- Help preserve facial structure preventing the bone deterioration when teeth are missing.
- Help patients rediscover the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life.
- Regain the ability to function normally as Dental Implants are the closest thing to natural teeth.
